Yaesu FT-450D HF/50MHz All Mode Transceiver for Home and Field Stations

The Yaesu FT-450D is a 100 W HF/50 MHz all-mode transceiver with a built-in automatic antenna tuner. Yaesu states that the model is no longer in production but is still supported. The radio covers 160 through 6 m and runs from an external 13.8 V DC supply. CQFF Radio Communication supplies it for wholesale and B2B orders.
Product Overview
The FT-450D is a compact 100 W HF/50 MHz all-mode transceiver for home, mobile and field use. Output covers 160 through 6 m. It runs from an external 13.8 V DC supply and draws about 22 A at rated output. Yaesu states that the model is no longer in production but is still supported.
The receiver is a double-conversion superheterodyne. The first IF is 67.899 MHz, where a 10 kHz four-pole roofing filter follows the first mixer. The second IF is 24 kHz. An eight-section band-pass filter ahead of the RF stage rejects strong out-of-band signals. Yaesu lists a 16-bit ADSP-BF531SBST device and describes the IF DSP as 400 MHz.
DSP filtering carries the interference tools. IF SHIFT moves the passband by up to ±1 kHz without changing received pitch. IF WIDTH steps through 1.8/2.4/3.0 kHz on SSB and 2.5/5.0 kHz on FM. CW offers 0.5/1.8/2.4 kHz and AM offers 3.0/6.0/9.0 kHz. CONTOUR, manual notch and DNR with eleven algorithms sit alongside. The transmitter adds a digital microphone equaliser and a speech processor.
CW work is well served. Three filters are built in at 300 Hz, 500 Hz and 2.4 kHz, so no filter option is needed. The keyer runs from 4 to 60 WPM. The beacon sends up to 118 characters from three message memories. Memory holds 500 channels in up to 12 groups.
A tuner is built in. It matches 16.5 to 150 ohm and stores up to 100 tuning memories. Yaesu’s discontinued Japanese lineup lists three versions. The FT-450D is rated 100 W, the FT-450DM 50 W and the FT-450DS 20 W.
